Michael Baylinson Obituary
Micheal (Mike) Baylinson passed away at Logan Health Hospital on Monday, December 5, 2022. He was a beloved husband and passed away after a long-term illness with his devoted wife, Margaret, at his bedside. He was a resident of Columbia Falls, MT for 25 years.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret of 45 years; three sisters, Sandra (Jerry) Detlsefsen, Deborah Davis (Dwight Algeo), Judy (Ron) Monaco; one brother, Daniel Baylinson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm and Marion Baylinson.
Micheal was a dedicated husband. He had a network of long-term friends from grade school to the Peace Corps. He received his formal education through the Delaware Public School system. He furthered his education at the University of Delaware, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in education. He attended the Catholic University of America, earning a master's degree in chemistry, physics, and math. Micheal taught high school science, chemistry, biology, and physics. He was an educator for more than 30 years, with a strong belief in public schools. He was named Teacher of the Year several times, always keeping an open door, available for all his students' needs.
Micheal loved to garden. His list of plants grew longer every year, from heirloom tomatoes, kale, and parsley, to okra and kohlrabi. He was a lover of nature. Some of his biggest joys were hiking and camping in the summer, and winter skiing in the mountains, especially the Rocky Mountains.
Micheal was also an avid reader, loving the Scientific American Magazine and mostly non-fiction audio books. Music of all types consumed Micheal's life, from classical to jazz. Because of his later blindness, his audio books and talking computer helped him stay connected with his world.
A memorial service was held on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at 1:30 PM at the Shining Mountains Science Church, 475 8th Avenue EN, Kalispell, MT, 406-257-6539.

RIP Mr. Baylinson, definely a great educator, science teacher, and to many of us a great tennis coach. He coached the McKinley Tech Tennis team for many years. Mr Baylinson lead a squad of skilled and some great tennis players and assisted in furthering the sport to African American men and women while also assisting in us becoming better citizens and people. Sorry we did not hear about your passing sooner, your home now is truly blessed by your presence.
