Yes! Attending Reunion

I attended Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. While at OU, I became a member of the Kappa Sweethearts and was a jazz DJ on the university radio station. In 1981, I joined the U.S. Army Reserves and received my commission as an officer in 1983.

Early in my senior year, I left college -- short-term mistake marriage (long story) -- and remained in Ohio working with the U.S. Army Reserves as an Adjutant General Officer, transferred to the Ohio Army National Guard and then back to the Reserves, working as a Public Affairs Officer for both components.

I returned to DC in 1989, shortly thereafter met and married the love of my life, James M. Chandler ("Mike") in 1993, and we now have the most wonderful children in the universe: Damon, Nicole and Alexis, and now a grandson, Kaden. I went back to school and graduated cum laude from UDC. I left the Army with the rank of Captain in 1998 to finish school and take care of my growing family and my parents.

After several years as a civilian doing mostly government contracting, I found what I was meant to do: I am now a real estate professional with Keller Williams Preferred Properties. I am licensed in Maryland and DC (with plans to become licensed in Virginia and North Carolina in 2021), and I work with residential and commercial buyers, sellers, investors, and renters. My specialties include government services, military relocations, seniors, and first-time homebuyers and renters. And, at my so-called advanced age, I am considering attending law school (real estate law) in 2021 or 2022.

Check out my web sites or visit me on Facebook, Nelson-Chandler & Associates: YOUR Educated Realtors (business), and search by my name for my personal page.

School Story:

OK, so I am the only "unofficial" 1979 grad. My mom got mad at me for blowing my A average by cutting my Algebra II/Trig class (the teacher called her!) so she made me transfer to St. Anthony's senior year. But yes, I cut school for the 1978 homecoming and went back to help my old homeroom. And when McKinley came to St. Anthony's to play basketball later that school year, OF COURSE, I sat with and cheered for my Trainers!!! I was labeled "the traitor" for the rest of the year at St. Anthony's, and I didn't care...Plus I managed to get in the big McKinley Class of 1979 picture too! I am a Techite to the heart always!
