In loving memory of Mr. Trent, teachers back then took a loving interest in the welfare of their students, he was the one who told me to come to the front of the class and sit. I thought I was in trouble, he wanted to see me after class, when class was over he gave me a note to give to my mom, I said Mr. Trent I didn't do anything this time he said I know but you need glasses have your mom take you to the eye doctor and he was absolutly correct, Can't see worth a darn, been wearing for reading every since. As a matter of fact I need to make an appointment for my checkup I'm do another pair.

Peace

I was in Mr. Trent's homeroom for three years. I don't remember much about him except that he was quite different from most other teachers. I truly believe he cared about his students as well as those students he didn't teach. May he rest in peace.

Mr. Trent was my homeroom teacher for all my years at McKinley -- Room 209 -- It's amazing to me that I can remember that tidbit after 30 years! (LOL) To this day, I do not know why our homeroom did not get a class photo or make it into the yearbook. Mr. Trent was a unique teacher indeed, no nonsense... I don't remember him laughing or smiling much at all... but I do believe he cared about his students and wanted us to get the best education we could. Thank you Mr. Trent for your investment into my life!

I remember Mr. Trent being very hard on me. I really did not understand, I thought he just was using me as an example. By reading a few of the other classmates responses, now looking back he really did care. RIP Mr. Trent.

I never really looked at the "In Memory" pages until today. Maybe because we sometimes shy away from things dealing with death. Mr. Trent was my homeroom teacher as well, Rm 209. He was a teacher who truly care about all students. Now he's teachng in Heaven.
