I along with Norma Hood, grew up with Stephanie Johnson in North Michigan Park. The three of us attended Bunker Hill Elementary School, Backus Junior High School and McKinley together and were neighbors. We had some good times together growing up, especially riding the 80 Bus to McKinley.
This was a shock to me to see that Stephanie is no longer with us. In fact, she was one of the people I was looking forward to reconnecting with at the reunion! We were in homeroom together, and she was one of the first McKinley students to befriend me. That was important to me, because I didn't grow up in northeast and knew very, very few other students at the school when I first got there. Steph and I remained buddies throughout our McKinley years and after graduation. Then I got married and started my family, and we lost touch. I last saw her at church, and have some peace in knowing that she is with the Lord.
