I'm also praying for you, Charmaine. Your strength will come from the Lord, being grounded and routed in the faith of believers has kept me since my mom went to be with the Lord. If you need someone to talk to or listen or just sit with you, let me know and I'll be there.

Dearest Gina,

My prayers are with you and your family.  Word of  the losses you have suffered, is devastating.

I am sorry, I will be unable to attend the benefit held in your honor, but I would like to help with a donation. Please post an address and or instructions for donations.  I know many other classmates who are unable to attend would also like to help.

May God give you the strength to push through this sad and dark period.  Rest in the knowledge "trouble don't last always"!

Sincerely.

Mary Alexander

Dear Mary,Javonne and the Class of 79..., Thank you so much for you kind words and prayers. I'm really touched that you and others are offering so much love and support during my time of need. I went to school with the best group of people!! Mary, You asked me for my information and I do have cash app. It's my full name Gina Barbour. You can also mail it to 2570 Oak Glen Way Forestville MD 20747. It's my neighbors and best friend's house. I don't think it's wise to mail anything to my hotel. The mail isn't coming to my house. Thanks you all for thinking of me🥰🥰❤️❤️🥰🥰

Thanks Gina,

I just watched a television program telling people to beware of cash apps.  Being over cautious, I will send my donation to the address you provided.  Sometimes age rules over modernity. LOL

Please know I am praying for you.  Be strong, God often "makes beauty from ashes"!

Love and Best Wishes,

Mary

Good Evening Class of '79 -  Below is a message I copied from our classmate Dezma Chase, regarding our classmate Willie Young!  (Thanks so much Dez!)

"Good Afternoon😥

It is with a sad spirit that I announce the passing of Larry (Fish) Young. He lost his battle to Cancer and Pneumonia at 10:40 am [today]. He is the younger brother of our classmate, Willie Young! Prayers and condolences to the Young Family at this time🙌🏽.

A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Larry was living in Denver at the time of his passing so he's being bought home to be eulogized."

Please reach out to Willie and his family to provide love, encouragement and support:  It is always a tough time to lose someone you love ... but especially so close to Christmas!

Willie's contact info: 8207 Barrett Road, Fort Washington, MD  20744  /  (301) 943-2057

To Willie Young and family, may God carry you through this time of sorrow, but bring you out with his love and all the memories of your baby brother.  My prayers are with you and your family.  Well, Fish I thought that I would see you again, and we have a chance to laugh and talk as we did in our youth. R.I.P. my buddy you are now free.

Wille and Family,

Your loss has to be devastating.  Larry was a good fellow!  May God be with you and your family. When we lose siblings, we are struck with double whammy of considering our mortality and the loss of yet another person who have known us our entire lives.  Remember the good times and charish eachother.

Love and prayers that your holidays be filled with family,

Mary Alexander

You want a wake up call, scroll through the In Memory section of this website.  We have lost so many good, kind and loving  classmates over the years.  And the trend toward increasing numbers each year, is certainly something you must take note of.  Please take this Christmas Season as an opportunity to enjoy life and spread cheer among your family and friends.  Tomorrow is not promised to any of us.  Take time to raise you head to the sky and give thanks to the Most High.  Silently honor your departed loved ones and our classmates with a smile and wink.  We don't know who is watching over us.

Be kind, forgive others and step up when called upon. And New Year's Eve, let's all raise a glass to our old friends, who are gone but not forgotten.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and Healthy Happy New Year,

Mary
