Mr. Wilder posted on Facebook today that our classmate, Boris Johnson, lost his mother, Mrs. Dorothy Johnson, who worked at McKinley.  Her celebration of life was held today.  Boris has not signed on to this site; however, please pray for him and his family!  Anytime you lose a parent is tough ... they will need God's peace, comfort and strength to keep moving forward!

Thanks so much!

Class of '79 -

I just talked with my long-time friend, coworker and classmate, Anthony "Buck" Wade and he asked me to share with you that his beloved wife, Karen Butler (Wade), who is also our classmate, transitioned this morning.  My heart is very heavy, but Tony encouraged me when he told me that he is at peace, knowing that Karen is in no more pain.  He has absolute assurance of where she is and she is now reunited with their beloved baby girl whom they lost suddenly several years ago.

Tony asks that you please just pray for him, his son and both the Butler and Wade families!  We will provide an update once arrangements have been made.

Both Tony and Karen have a profile on this site, if you want to view it.

Please tell someone TODAY that you love them!heart

It's so heart wrenching to hear about the passing of our classmates in recent times. My prayer is that The Almighty God will comfort and strengthen the families and friends of all those who have transitioned and for those of us who remain to ensure that when our times comes that we are prepared to spend eternity with our Father. Finally, be encouraged classmates, God is still in control!

My sincere and deepest condolences go out to Anthony (Buck) Wade and his family in the passing of his wife.  While I only knew Karen in passing at McKinley, I have been friends with Buck since elementary school and my heart really hurts for him in the loss of both of his beautiful Queens.  May the family find comfort in the arms of our Almight God during this most difficulty time of bereavement.

Good Day to my Mckinley Tech Family,

I'm sadden to hear of the transition to eternal life for my classmates in 2020.  Rest in Heavenly Peace, Spirit and Power.  With these trying days ahead, the class of 1979 let's continue to pray for strength and Power that a cure for this COVID-19, Pandemic will be sooner rather than later.

Let's pray for this new way of life as the Students return back to grade school and college under these circumstance, pray for their interest in learning virtual! It can be a stuggle for them, I know first hand with my son, who I'm proud to say graduated from H.D. Woodson June 2020. =)!

May prayers of power continue keep us strong, healthy, safe and love to share with one another.  We are 59, some may 60 strong! Be blessed everyone =)

It sadden me today to learn of Karren Butler's departure of this life:

In memory of Karen, I have reflections of the many conversations and classes we shared throughtout our years at McKinley High School.  It appeared that every year, we had classes together.  However,  Karen and I connection was instant because we shared the love for fashion.  Our conversations would start by admiring what either of us was wearing.  I can remember Karen and I vividly expressing our love for our shoes.  At times, we came to class wearing similar black heels with a pointed shoes.  Karen was always well groomed and had a very nice personality.  It's my hope that we meet again in enternal life.  Best wishes for Love, Peace, and Happiness found in Christ.   Tawaunna Rush

To My Tech Family -

Thank you so much for your prayers! Also, I’d like to express my gratitude for your outpouring of love and support via cards, kind words and reaching out to speak with me during this difficult time. Karen is smiling down from heaven because of you.  Although these last two weeks have been very difficult, I must say that reading the various posts on the website from my Tech family has inspired me to stay strong.  Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.
