I (FERN COOKE) WAS BLESSED TO SPEAK WITH CHANDRA, THE NIGHT BEFORE SHE PASSED. SHE CALLED ME AROUND 10:PM,9/11/07, I TOLD HER I WAS SUPRISE TO HEAR FROM HER THAT TIME OF NIGHT, BECAUSE CHANDRA ALWAYS WENT TO BED EARLY. SHE AND I MUST HAVE BEEN ON THE PHONE FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS. WE TALKED ABOUT OUR DAYS AT LANDGLEY JR. HIGH AND ALL THE FUN WE HAD AT MCKINLEY. SHE SAID HER MCKINLEY TECH DAYS WERE THE BEST DAYS OF HER LIFE. CHANDRA TRULY LOVED ALL OF HER CLASSMATES. I TRULY MISS MY BEST FRIEND.

Chandra, was one of the nicest people you could ever meet. From Langley Jr. High school to McKinley tech, she proved to be a true blue friend, always smiling and always jovial. Our prayers are with her family and friends.

Fern, I know you all were very close, hang in there, be encouraged...

Chandra you were a light on a dreary day, thank you for being such a dear friend to me. Your smile would like up a room, rest in peace.

Chandra Bailey - You were one of the classiest dressing women in our class. I will never forget your warm spirit. Please know that you will forever be in our hearts.

Peace and blessings,

Chandra I miss you so much we talked about this reunion and how we were going to lose weight and just be looking good and how we looked forward to seeing our classmates, well Chandra it was beautiful and my only regret girlfriend is that you are resting with Jesus, I know that you, me and Fern would have been on that phone for hours and just to know that Dezma was there awesome. McKinley Tech class of 79 is the best and you was apart of that class.

Cha-Cha, your warm smile and kindness will be missed! You were always so much fun to be around in class and in the halls. I'll always remember you, my sharp dressed sister. Until we meet again...

Chandra some days it is still hard to believe, the class had another passing and it made you think of you because they to were so close.  I miss you Chandra and I treasure our last outing together we had so much fun that night.  Until I see you in glory.  kisses

Chandra now our 40th reunion is approaching and the 79 Committee kicked it off with a church service at McKinley.  Girl it was simply amazing Donald Roberts preached and Gloria Bland did  a prayer not sure if you would have known or remember others and I said a poem "If only they could say Hello".  You know I thought of you and Pierre and others too, I miss you so much.

Hello  Chandra yesterday, marked 40 years out of high school.  So this morning I am thinking about you how many telephone conversations would we have had, how many days of shopping, how much laughing, how many times would I be telling you not to hold my hand, and how many times would you have told me that I was not the boss of you and mostly how many times would we have said I love you. I love you and I miss you until we meet in that beautiful place beyond the clouds.
